Smart streetlight poles have now entered the public eye. As a new type of urban public infrastructure, smart streetlights, in addition to their power supply and network connectivity, integrate hardware such as surveillance cameras, multimedia information screens, public address systems, and sensors to achieve data collection and remote control. Furthermore, they can transmit data to a server backend for processing, enabling precise management of various urban areas and intensive utilization of urban resources.

Requisitos del cliente

The system needs to integrate and collect diverse data, including lighting energy consumption, environmental parameters (PM2.5, temperature and humidity, noise, illuminance), video surveillance footage, pedestrian and vehicle traffic statistics, and equipment status.

The system should automatically identify and issue alarms for situations such as light fixture malfunctions, cable theft (abnormal current), equipment offline, and environmental exceedances (dust, noise).

The system should support individual light energy-saving control (dimming, switching), remote batch policy distribution, and electricity cost statistics for each streetlight; it should also support unified operation and maintenance management of integrated equipment.

The platform should display the distribution, status, and integrated functions of all smart streetlights. It provides functions such as energy consumption analysis reports, environmental data trend charts, equipment online rate statistics, and maintenance work order processing efficiency analysis.

Sistema de control de gases combustibles y tóxicos

The solution uses the IOTROUTER ER5200 industrial 5G DTU router as the "brain" of the smart light pole, equipped with a smart light pole integrated management platform, to build an intelligent management system that coordinates "end-edge-cloud".

One ER5200 is deployed in each device compartment of the smart light pole. The ER5200 collects data from various sensors through hardware interfaces (4*LAN + 1*RS485). Data is uploaded to the cloud via 5G RedCap SA networking/4G/3G/WiFi connectivity. This enables functions such as lighting control, energy consumption metering, environmental monitoring, emergency calls, information dissemination, camera networking, and more.

ER5200

The ER5200 is a lightweight industrial 5G RedCap device that combines a router and a DTU into one unit. Utilizing Huawei's chip solution, it supports APN/VPDN/IoT card private network access. Fully compatible with 4G/3G networks, it boasts a downlink peak rate of 226Mbps and an uplink peak rate of 120Mbps (theoretical value), maintaining stable operation even in harsh environments ranging from -40℃ to 80℃.

The device supports protocols such as TCP/UDP/MQTT/Modbus RTU/TCP/JSON, facilitating seamless integration with various industrial devices including sensors, PLCs, and cameras. Its heartbeat and registration packet design enables proactive serial port data acquisition and reporting. It supports remote cloud-based operation and maintenance and various encrypted tunnels, meeting the high reliability and low maintenance requirements of industrial sites and outdoor environments.

Ventajas y valor

The ER5200 industrial router's robust multi-protocol compatibility and rich interface capabilities perfectly solve the technical challenges of heterogeneous component integration of multiple devices in smart light poles. It enables digital, networked, and intelligent management of urban infrastructure, significantly reducing operation and maintenance costs. It provides ubiquitous sensing and network capacity for various smart city applications.
