Dal 7 al 9 settembre 2017, la 5a Conferenza della Cina (Mianyang) è stata ospitata dal Ministero della Scienza e della Tecnologia e dal Governo Popolare della Provincia del Sichuan, con il tema "Integrazione militare-civile, innovazione scientifica e tecnologica, cooperazione aperta", con Israele come ospite d'onore. A Mianyang si è svolta in grande stile l'Expo internazionale della città della scienza e della tecnologia.
