What is a remote IO controller?

The remote IO controller is also called a remote IO module, which can be understood as a switch that can be controlled remotely. I/O is the input/output of a switching value (digital quantity), I is the input, and O is the output.

The remote IO controller can detect the input switching value and control the output switching value, for example: input can access switches, proximity switches, magnetic switches, photoelectric switches, and other switching signals. The output can drive solenoid valves, relays and other electrical appliances to work in an on-off mode.

Why use a remote IO controller?

1. Save equipment investment

In some industrial applications, PLCs with local I/O modules cannot be installed near field devices due to complex environmental factors.

2. Save cable costs

Wireless instead of wired. Using a remote IO controller, signals can be received from distant sensors and remote control signals can be sent to control valves, motors and other final actuators.

3. Reduce signal interference

The remote IO controller supports a complete bus and has high compatibility. It adopts isolation technology with each channel to improve the anti-interference ability of long-distance signals in the project.
