Antecedentes

Due to economic and technological reasons, traditional lawn irrigation is primarily manual. This method only changes soil moisture, resulting in low water utilization. Approximately 80% of the water is lost through deep seepage and ineffective evaporation.

Sprinkler irrigation is preferable for lawns. Sprinkler irrigation covers a large area with fewer spray points, preserving the overall aesthetics of the green space. Compared to traditional flood irrigation, it can save about 30% of water.

Intelligent irrigation systems represent the future of irrigation. They employ advanced water-saving irrigation techniques, moving from traditional full-scale irrigation to less-scale irrigation, monitoring and forecasting water usage in the irrigation area, and implementing dynamic management.

    The system uses the ZHC492C 4G network IO controller developed by IOTROUTER as its control core. It connects to soil moisture sensors and solenoid valves via RS485 and transmits data to the IOTROUTER cloud platform or other third-party IoT management platforms via 4G.

    The platform analyzes the collected data, including weather data and soil temperature and humidity, and then sends commands to the 492C to adjust the motor speed. The motor drives the water pump to draw water from the water source and delivers water to the sprinklers through main and branch pipes. The sprinklers rotate automatically at their respective rotation angles. The solenoid valves automatically close when irrigation ends.

    To ensure sufficient pressure for sprinklers located far from the water source, a pressure gauge is installed on one side of the solenoid valve to guarantee that the water pressure for each sprinkler meets the set irrigation range. This prevents reduced sprinkler range due to insufficient water pressure. The entire system works in coordination to achieve intelligent control of farmland irrigation.
