Urban traffic lights are core infrastructure ensuring smooth and safe traffic flow. Traffic lights placed in the field, if they malfunction (e.g., freeze, green light conflict, or damaged lights), can immediately cause traffic congestion and even accidents.
LED traffic warning signs are typically used in densely populated areas of highways, urban roads, and major arterial roads. These signs not only support changing the text but also can change the text color according to different weather conditions, facilitating traffic guidance.
Traditional operation and maintenance methods rely on traffic police patrols or citizen reports, resulting in delayed detection and low efficiency in handling the situation. This wastes a significant amount of manpower and effort. Therefore, 24/7 real-time monitoring and remote supervision of traffic lights and traffic warning signs is an essential modern management method.

Remote acquisition of the signal controller's operating status (running/stopped/faulty), current signal light color (red, yellow, green), light malfunction information, and the operating status of external warning signs is required.

Using the ZHC492C 4G RTU from IOTROUTER, connected to the text display circuit board via RS485, remote transparent transmission is achieved, allowing commands to be sent from the server to modify the warning sign text. Additionally, a DI is connected to the traffic light to monitor whether the sent commands are executed correctly and to monitor the light's status.
